Warranty

Most equipment sold by American Timber Equipment is backed by the applicable manufacturer's warranty. Coverage can vary by brand, model, application, and whether the equipment is used personally or commercially. We make warranty information easy to understand and help you navigate the claim process when support is needed.

Important: Manufacturer warranty terms control the final coverage. Some manufacturers require product registration or warranty activation shortly after delivery, so review the warranty instructions included with your equipment as soon as it arrives.

Manufacturer-Backed Coverage

Product-Specific Terms

Commercial use, engines, wear items, labor, and freight may have separate terms or exclusions.

Warranty Information

Manufacturer Warranty

Unless a product page states otherwise, warranty coverage is provided by the equipment manufacturer under that manufacturer's published terms.

Coverage may include specific components, parts, or defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty duration and remedies vary by brand and model.

Warranty Registration & Activation

Some manufacturers require the purchaser to register the equipment, engine, or serial number within a specified period after delivery.

Failure to complete required registration may affect coverage, so we recommend reviewing all documentation included with the machine immediately after receipt.

Commercial Use

Many manufacturers apply different warranty periods or conditions when equipment is used commercially, professionally, for rental, or in other high-duty applications.

The manufacturer's commercial-use terms apply whenever they differ from consumer-use coverage.

What May Not Be Covered

Common exclusions may include normal wear items, routine maintenance, misuse, abuse, improper installation, unauthorized modifications, improper storage, accidents, and operation outside the manufacturer's specifications.

Exact exclusions are manufacturer-specific and should be reviewed before purchase when warranty coverage is a deciding factor.

Shipping Damage vs. Warranty

Shipping damage is generally handled as a freight or carrier claim rather than a manufacturer warranty claim.

Inspect freight carefully before signing the delivery receipt. Note visible damage or missing items on the Bill of Lading and take photographs whenever possible. For more information, review our Shipping & Returns page.

Parts, Labor, Freight & Service Costs

Warranty coverage may apply differently to replacement parts, labor, diagnostics, technician travel, freight, pickup, removal, or reinstallation.

These costs are covered only when included under the applicable manufacturer's warranty terms or specifically authorized as part of a claim.
